THEY GOT ME ON YOUTUBE!

Good to see CNN is on top of it. This may be a stretch, but I’m going to say that CNN just walked into the mall water fountain while texting by covering this “story.”

I’m still waiting for the scoop on this kid though.

South Padre Island, Texas.  January 2011 Mucking FonsTour:

I’ll admit, sometimes I say more than needs to be said.  Best to view this video on mute.

This moment was beautiful, almost surreal… We drove up to the shoreline of the beach, where we then parked our cars.  As soon as you exit the vehicle, this sharp gust of wind would knock you in the face with the smell of the ocean.  The wind chill was around freezing, the sky was overcast, and the waves were crashing against the shore.  Our small group decided to make our way towards a pier built on rocks which extended about 300 yards out into the sea.  Once we were on the pier, we started to run to the end of it, as the icy waves continued to break against the rocks, sometimes splashing us.  We had a short photo shoot at the end of the pier, but I don’t think anyone could keep a straight face.  Some of us ended up getting soaked.  So we ran back down the pier, to the shoreline, hopped into our cars and left.  What a rush.

The entire Winter Tour experience with Sam Robertson was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.  I loved every moment of it, and had some awesome existential moments.  God is good.

Sometimes songs write themselves @ 4:30 in the morning, before school starts.
Not cool, musical inspiration. Not cool.

OH YEAH BTW, I’m going back to school this semester.  Yes, I’ve signed up for classes and everything. Please pray for me,  I think this time it’s going to be good.

Whatever it is, it’s working.

Today has been a great day.

I just finished recording some tracks for my friend, Seth’s band, The Clint Levi Band at Ft. Worth Sound Studio.  This was my first experience with Southern-rock influenced country music, and it was actually quite fun.  Of course, I didn’t let anyone know until after we finished… there’s no sense in worrying people. The producer, Bart Rose, was great to work with, and said he’d be interested in having me come in to play on other projects.

Tomorrow, I’ll be leaving for a miniature tour of Texas with my friends from Western Giants and Samantha Robertson.  Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to present the audience with some of my “loop station” project that I’ve been working on.

Side note: Hm. I still need to come up with a name for that project.

Other than that:

-I’m excited about my job as pizza delivery man at Crooked Crust (I have to start somewhere, right?)

-I’ve been feeling inspired to write down some song ideas and lyrics

-I’ve rejoined Backwater Opera, and we’ve got a busy year ahead of us (more on that later)

-Discovered a new thrift store in Denton, where I bought some sweet loafers and a red mini piano which I will use for projects. tickle the ivory

-And I’m looking forward to returning to school this semester! I can’t wait to be in that environment again.

If my life keeps progressing like this, I would not have any complaints.

How are you?
